Smile design is where the technology becomes genuinely exciting. We combine your 3D scan with photographs of your face and smile, then use smile-design software to mock up tooth shape, length, proportion and shade against your own features. You see the smile simulation on screen, tell us what you'd change, and we refine it together until it feels right. Nothing is committed to until you're happy with the plan — so instead of hoping for a good outcome, you approve it in advance. Yes — for cosmetic treatments in particular, our smile simulation software can show you a realistic preview of the expected outcome based on your specific facial features and teeth. While every simulation is an approximation rather than a guarantee, it's a powerful tool for ensuring you and Dr Frame are aligned on the goal.
Digital smile design is a planning process rather than a single treatment. We take a 3D scan of your teeth along with photographs and video of your face, lips and smile line, then use specialist software to design the ideal tooth shape, length, width, midline position and shade for your face — not a generic template. The proposed smile is overlaid onto your own photographs so you can see exactly how it would look. From there we can plan the combination of veneers, bonding, whitening, crowns or clear aligners needed to achieve it. It turns a conversation about 'what might be possible' into a specific, visual plan you've approved before treatment starts.
Digital X-rays are at least as accurate as traditional film X-rays and in many ways more useful — they produce higher contrast images, can be zoomed and enhanced, and are immediately available. They're also significantly better for the environment.
